Rubbish and rubbish separation
Garbage collection at the front door
In Son Serra de Marina, rubbish collection is done directly at each doorstep. This means that residents and tourists have to put a different type of rubbish on the street every day and that there are no large rubbish containers placed on the streets of the settlement. Here you will find information on how to separate your waste and the weekly schedule for separate collection:
Packaging / Plastics
Packaging and plastic (light packaging) includes tetra-pack cartons (milk, juice, etc.), plastic bottles, plates and cups, plastic bags and cling film, polystyrene and plastic trays, beverage cans and tins, aluminium trays and foil, aerosols and sprays, metal and plastic covers.
Organic waste
Organic waste (compost) includes fresh fruit and vegetable scraps, meat and fish, bread and bakery scraps, cooked ingredients, eggshells, nutshells and seafood, coffee scraps and tea bags, small amounts of garden waste, paper towels and napkins.
Paper & cardboard
Paper and cardboard (Paper) includes magazines and newspapers, paper dishes and cups, wrapping paper, cardboard boxes as well as egg cartons.
Residual waste
Waste includes clay and porcelain, ashes and cigarette butts, animal excrement, nappies and sanitary towels, wet wipes, razor blades, paper with paint dirt and small mirrors.
Glass
Glass (Glass) includes glass bottles and glass jars (without lids).
Disposal at the waste collection point
In addition to the rubbish collection at every front door, you will find a central rubbish collection point (so-called Punto Verde) at the entrance to the settlement, where you can deposit your rubbish if you cannot keep to the collection times of the rubbish collection. To access this collection point, an access card is required, which must be held in front of the card reader to the right of the entrance gate. The access card for the waste collection point can be found inside the key box. When leaving the house, please place the access card in the key box again so that other tenants can also have access to the waste collection point.
